The marketing world has changed a lot in the past decade. To be more specific, It changes every single day. I think that anybody out there that is looking for marketing their business or themselves even, should be ready for every change that comes.

From Newspaper ads to TV commercials to Facebook posts and YouTube reviews, advertisers need to keep track of every platform out there and what it represents.

TikTok has probably been the biggest change that has happened recently. It changed the whole social media dynamic between different platforms. Teens and young adults are now interesting in short, sound-based videos that sometimes seems like nonsense to the outside eye.

TikTok as a platform is something that is difficult to understand, but when you do, it’s impossible to quit. It’s fast paced, witty, sarcastic and funny all in one. And it has 1 BILLION users.

So, to not be in that platform when marketing your product or your business, is a grave mistake. Being on TikTok not only will expose you to many potential clients, but it will show you are part of a progressive community that is open minded and authentic. I think one of the many reasons why people are no longer attracted to common commercials or even Instagram posts is because they know that what they are seeing is not real. They what authenticity, they want the backstage, the realness.

Now, being on TikTok is a lot of work. And I think a lot of people are hesitant to do it because they don’t know how to start. My advice? Start by just being on the app for a couple of hours. Start by understanding the platform and the content other users are posting. Success will only come if you are attentive to other content creators on it. Knowing which popular sounds will work for you and for what you are trying to showcase.

I’ve seen so many businesses succeed on TikTok and thrive, there is no reason not to go for it.
